They have a low draft, so they can dock on small islands with less touristy because large boats can not stop there. WHAT ARE THESE SAILBOATS?

THE DAHABEYA (OR DAHABIEH …) It is a boat from 24 to 46 meters long, it has two large sails. This small historic boat, already present at the time of the pharaohs, was used by royal families, in the last century, at the time of King Farouk. His name is dahabeya because he was decorated with gold, and gold in Arabic is pronounced dahabe. It has 60 cm maximum draft, 4 to 8 cabins very comfortable with a small bridge luxury.

Day 1 – Saturday – Arrival Luxor -Overnight Hotel in Luxor.

Day 2 – Sunday -Visit Karnak Temple . Esna – Embark Nile Dahabeya. Sail to Edfu.

Day 3 –  Monday – Visit the Edfu Temple – The island of Bassaw.

Day 4 –  Tuesday – Careers of Silsila- Kom Ombo.

Day 5 – Wednesday – Daraw -Philae.

Day 6 –  Thursday – Aswan.

Day 7 – Friday – Luxor-Valley of the Kings -Hatshepsut.

Day 8 – Saturday – Check-out after breakfast- – Transfer to Luxor Airport or railway station.

Day 1
Arrival Luxor - Welcome to Egypt

Arrive at Luxor Airport or railway station where our representative will meet and assist you through customs and then you claim your baggage. You will be transferred to your selected hotel . Overnight at your Hotel.

Day 2
Sunday - Karnak- Embarkation at Esna-Nile Valley

Breakfast at the hotel. Start your day with a visit to the Temples of Karnak. Walk along the Avenue of Sphinx to enter the complex as your guide explains how the massive facade was constructed. On entering the Temples of Karnak you will see each legacy left by the various pharaohs as the complex grew even larger. The deeper you go into the complex, the further back in time you will travel, with the oldest ruins dating back over 3,000 years.

Walking through the Great Court into the Great Hypostyle Hall, it’s hard not to be overwhelmed by the 134 columns towering above you like an ancient forest. At the rear of the complex you will find the sacred lake where centuries ago pharaohs and their offerings to the gods were purified. After a tour of the complex, you will have additional free time to explore at leisure.

At noon, Departure by road to Esna (1:30), the home port of your Dahabiyah. Welcome aboard! Welcome by the crew, visit of the boat, installation. And here we go, the Dahabiyah leaves the dock, here you are in the middle of the Nile. Lunch on board. Afternoon of calm sailing with the rhythm of the wind. You begin to relax while the Dahabiyah is in vogue. Your stopover for the night is Edfu.

Day 3
Monday - Edfu - Basaw

Breakfast while sailing. Visit the temple of Edfu (carriage ride from Dahabiyah to the temple) .The temple is dedicated to the god Horus symbolized by a solar disc with falcon wings. It is one of the largest temples (height 26 m, length 137 m and width 79 m) and the best preserved in Egypt (2h).Lunch and navigation in the afternoon. Around 16: 00, Arrival at a beautiful place, the island of Bassaw, walk on the island (1:30), and visit a beautiful Egyptian village and meet with locals. Dinner Campfire and lively evening on the shore with the villagers. Night on the boat

Day 4
Tuesday - Careers of Silsila - Kom Ombo

Breakfast while sailing. Arrival in the impressive rocky site of Gebel Silsila, the largest sandstone quarry of the Pharaonic era. Walk through the galleries and visit the site to discover the many inscriptions, stelae and decorated tombs. Visit the small rock temple of Pharaoh Horemheb grave in the rock (2:30).Lunch and navigation. Arrival at Kom Ombo temple just before the big cruises, you will be almost alone in this beautiful temple dedicated to the god Crocodile and the god Falcon, Take the time to admire so much beauty and we end with a beautiful museum of mummies of Crocodiles (1h30). Small navigation to get away from the city and find the Calm another time Dinner and night on board.

Day 5
Wednesday - Daraw - Aswan - Philae

After breakfast, Guaranteed change of scenery Daraw market, certainly one of the highlights of the trip. You wander in the clutter of the popular market where colors, scents of East and Africa mixed are so many symphonies for the eyes and nostrils (2:30)! Back on board.Lunch in front of a very beautiful sand beach where there will be the opportunity to swim in the sacred river. Sail to Aswan. We stop just before the Aswan Bridge. Transfer by minibus to the temple of Philae, the pearl of Egypt to attend the Sound and Light show in the temple of the goddess Isis (1h) Dinner and overnight on board

Day 6
Thursday - Aswan

Free morning in Aswan. (Optional) Excursion to Abu Simbel temples or Nile cataracts by motorboat Lunch on board. Afternoon transfer to the Philae temple dedicated to Isis, located on an island 5 km south of Aswan. Dinner and overnight on board.

Day 7
Friday - Luxor-Valley of the Kings -Hatshepsut

Early in the morning, transfer to Aswan station and departure by 1st class train to Luxor. This morning will be devoted to visiting the West Bank sites. Discovery of the Valley of the Kings where most Pharaohs of the XVIIIth and XXth Dynasties were buried. Lunch in a typical restaurant Then discover the funerary temple of Queen Hatshepsut, which takes its originality from its succession of terraces leading to the sanctuary. return to the hotel and free evening Overnight at the hotel.

Departure and Flight to home (B )

Payment Policy

Reservations should be made as early as possible to book the desired Nile cruise, spaces will be secured upon receiving a deposit of 25 %, and during the Christmas and New Year holidays, the required deposit is 50%. This deposit forms part of your final payment. Deposits can only be made by Online Payment, wire transfer and or the Western Union.

Tipping

It is a customary attitude for expressing one’s satisfaction of good services rendered to him by staff on duty with him. We advise if you are willing to offer it, this would be great and if not, you are not obliged to do it.
