TOUR ITINERARY
In the morning our agent will meet you at your hotel in Hurghada and drive you to Luxor by a modern air-conditioned vehicle. First, you will visit the Karnak Temple Complex, a vast area of temples, chapels, pylons and the Great Temple of Amun. This large open-air museum was once named Ipet-isut, which means “the most selected of places”. Its construction began in the Middle Kingdom (2000-1700 BC), though the majority of the existing buildings date back to the New Kingdom (1500-1000 BC). The complex houses the Great Hypostyle Hall with its 134 giant columns. You will have lunch at a local restaurant before moving to the Colossi of Memnon, massive twin statues depicting the Pharaoh Amenhotep III, who ruled Egypt from 1386 to 1349 BC. Proceed to the Valley of the Kings, which is home to 63 known tombs and chambers; 26 of them are carved for Pharaohs, the others belong to royal family members and nobles. Only fifteen tombs are open for public, among them are those granted to Tutankhamun, Thutmose III, Ramesses I and Seti II. Another highlight of this day is the Mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, located in the Valley of the Queens. This richly decorated temple narrating the story of the divine birth of the first female Pharaoh is dedicated to the Sun God Amun-Re. You can now enjoy your time at leisure and go for some shopping before returning to Hurghada.

Private Tour: Abu Simbel by Minibus from Aswan
95 US$ per person
Tour Itinerary
See the magnificent temples of Abu Simbel on a minibus tour from Aswan. With a qualified Egyptologist as your guide, you’ll enjoy a personalized visit to Abu Simbel on this private tour. With its four rock-hewn pharaohs, you’ll agree that the Great Temple is one of the most impressive sites in Egypt, and the highlight of any trip to Egypt.
On the short walk to the temple entrances, your guide will explain the history of the site, including details of the UNESCO-led relocation of the entire cliff face to higher ground, and how the temples were discovered by accident in 1813. Due to the large number of visitors to Abu Simbel, guides are not permitted inside either the Great Temple of Ramses II or the smaller Temple of Hathor. However, by using photos and illustrations, your guide will explain to you the structures and their interior artworks. You will then have free time to enter the temples and explore them at your leisure.
As one of the few ancient Egyptian sites which largely escaped damage by past invaders, the interiors of Abu Simbel’s temples are astounding. The scale of the buildings and their detailed decoration leaves most visitors in awe. The temples’ attraction is further enhanced by their scenic location on the edge of Lake Nasser in the orange sands of the desert.
The drive is approximately three hours each way.
